Artist Statement

What drew me to printmaking in the beginning and still keeps me fascinated are the rich tactile quality of the printed surface, the challenges of each print process, and the potential for multiple alternatives and variations. Printmaking techniques create effects and images not possible in any other art form. Exploring the new printmaking techniques that are emerging and changing the parameters of what constitutes an original print makes this a very exciting time to be a printmaker.

I feel very blessed that I get to work in a spacious studio overlooking the Sakonnet River…that as printmaking instructor at the Providence Art Club and curator of Gallery 297 I get to share my enthusiasm and artistic vision with others.
